Virus Prevention
EmsaNet Internet Services Network has antivirus
systems in place that 'scan' e-mail as it enters and leaves our mail servers. Keep in mind that the antivirus systems in place may not be able to detect all known viruses and variants. Please be aware there are
risks involved whenever downloading e-mail attachments to your computer and that, as provided in the Terms of Service Agreement, EmsaNet Internet Services, Inc. is not responsible for any damages caused by your
decision to do so.
EmsaNet recommends that all users help protect themselves
by installing an antivirus product on their computer.
Having an antivirus product installed is only the first step to prevention. An effective antivirus policy also includes updating the virus 'definitions' regularly. It is recommended that you update your virus definition at least once a week to help detect the latest strains. As new viruses develop, antivirus software developers will release updates to their products to help detect and remove the latest variants. There are a number of antivirus packages available that provide virus protection for both email and general internet browsing. The following are not listed in any particular order of preference.

Online Virus Scanners
A number of antivirus vendors provide online scanners to
help determine if your PC is currently infected. If infection is found, EmsaNet recommends purchasing a full version product as mentioned in our Virus Prevention section located above.
